Modern Day Slavery
For Anti-Slavery Day, 18th October 2021, Mothers’ Union members and friends knitted a chain of over 10,000 links. Each link represents a victim of modern day slavery in Leicestershire. The chain was created to help us understand the enormous impact that slavery has on individuals and our community. Whilst knitting these links, members of Mothers’ Union have been praying for these victims and for an end to their enslavement. We hope that they encourage you to pray too.
In March 2022, the chain was displayed at the Diocese of Leicester
Community of the Tree of Life during 24 hours of prayer for the victims of modern day slavery and the campaign to end it.
