About

Mothers’ Union is a Christian organisation which promotes the well-being of families worldwide.

We achieve this by:

  • developing prayer and spiritual growth in families
  • studying and reflecting on family life and marriage and their place in society
  • resourcing our members to take practical action to improve conditions for families, both nationally and in the communities in which they live.

Mothers’ Union is a praying, teaching and caring society open to both men and women.  We are active in 83 countries and have 4 million members worldwide.

Why should I want to join Mothers’ Union?

Would you like to join with other Christians in considering matters affecting family life?

This is what Mothers’ Union tries to do through its many branches in this country and worldwide.

Would you like to see your local church doing more to support parents and families?  Have you ideas about what could be done?

This is the concern of Mothers’ Union.

Does you local community have facilities for helping parents, children, the elderly, those with disabilities?  Do they need volunteers?

Mothers’ Union members see this as a way of carrying out Mothers’ Union objectives.

Mothers’ Union, through its branches and committees, can help to formulate opinions and policies on all aspects of family life.  Through its London headquarters and its representation on national/international bodies, Mothers’ Union can carry Christian thinking on the family into places where it can be heard and make a difference.

As Christians, we are concerned about family life.  There are different kinds of families, but their value lies in the care and nurture they give to their members.

We acknowledge, sadly, that not all families are healthy and for all families there are difficult times.

Mothers’ Union is especially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life.  Its Aim is the advancement of the Christian faith in the sphere of marriage and family life.

By joining Mothers’ Union, you could be actively engaged in Christian witness and help to improve the quality of family life.
